Meet Buddie. A sweet boy, a kind and affectionate dog who loves people. He's always excited to say hello, though his tendency to jump up might not be ideal for small children. He's well house-trained and will whimper to let you know when he needs to go out. Buddie is very vocal when there's company and loves to be the center of attention. A quiet spot with his bed and a chew toy is all he needs to feel comfortable. He's incredibly smart and has a bit of a snoopy side, which means he can be destructive if left alone in the house for too long. However, he stays calm and behaves well when left in the bedroom with his chew toy. On leash, Buddie let's his husky traits shine and really likes to pull. His prey drive is especially high with rabbits though he is a good boy in the house with his foster cat brother. Buddie is working constantly on those leash skills with his foster mom, but it will take time to develop good leash manners. When another dog approaches, Buddie does react as he takes his protection job seriously. Buddie's foster mom has not had the chance to see how he is off leash in a safe environment with other dogs around but in a previous foster home he seemed fine with other dogs.
He's not a fan of brushing but tolerates grooming gloves. He's also good with cats but has a prey drive, especially for rabbits. Inside the house, he's a calm companion, happy to quietly chew his bone, sleep, or receive pets.
Buddie would benefit from an active home with a fenced yard so he can get his unlimited energy supply out during the day. Buddie has had a tough start but is smart and eager to please his people. Especially for treats as he is very food motivated.
Ideally, husky experience is an asset as he does portray a lot of his charming, yet challenging husky qualities!
