Lucy arrived from Manitoba a very nervous mom with five small puppies. She came with the name Lucy, so they became the Peanut’s Gang! All her babies are now in their forever homes, so it is Lucy’s time now! She was spayed two weeks ago and has recovered perfectly, even regaining her girlish figure! Over the past couple of months we have had Lucy she has blossomed! It didn’t take long to gain her trust, and now she is part of our family. She is very loving and follows me everywhere almost in a herding fashion. We can’t say what breed of dog she is, but a couple of her pups have had their DNA tested and there are various smaller breeds mixed in there. She is a medium dog weighing 45 lbs, so she is a good size for a smaller home. Lucy gets along with our other dogs and especially loves big Zack (70lbs). The two of them are constant companions whether playing or cuddled up on my bed. Lucy has been introduced to our cats. She would desperately like to be their friend, but they keep their distance. In no way would she hurt them. Lucy is completely house trained. She will scratch at the door and bark to let us know she needs to go outside. Lucy really enjoyed the snow and cold weather, often choosing to lay in the cold sunshine all by herself. Being a young dog, she is active and enjoys running in the dog park. Lucy is fairly good at coming to me when called. She has to have something to chew whether it is bones, toys or stuffies. She has defied the claims of indestructible dog toys! She likes to play fetch and tug a war. Lucy is such a smart, sweet girl. She will be a wonderful addition to any family.
